Data Deletion

What data we store

When you interact with 9by16 — either by signing in or by submitting an Instagram post via Direct Message — we may store the following:

• Your email address and name (if you sign in via Google or email)
• Your Instagram sender ID (IGSID) — an anonymised numeric identifier assigned by Meta, not your username
• Instagram post URLs and shortcodes submitted via DM
• Hashtags associated with submitted posts
• Submission timestamps

We do not store passwords, payment information, phone numbers, or any content from your Instagram account beyond the post URL you explicitly share with us.

How to request deletion

To request the deletion of any data associated with your account or Instagram sender ID, email us at:

Please include the email address or Instagram username associated with your request. We will process deletion requests within 30 days and confirm once complete.

Meta / Facebook connected apps

If you connected 9by16 via Instagram and wish to revoke access, you can also do so directly from Instagram:

1. Open Instagram → Settings → Security → Apps and Websites
2. Find 9by16 and tap Remove

Revoking access prevents future data collection but does not delete previously stored data. To remove stored data, please also send the email request above.
